Brian McDonald

Brian has been training in martial arts since 1966, and has a broad knowledge of hand-to-hand and weapons based fighting systems including Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Iai Do (Japanese sword), Shaolin Chin Na and Jo Do (short staff).

Training

He has studied Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi and Shaolin Chin Na with Chinese master Dr. Yang, Jwing Ming (Boston) and currently studies with Sifu Ding Teah Chean (John Ding) in London. He is a qualified instructor with the John Ding International Academy of Tai Chi Chuan (JDIATCC) and has been studying with Sifu Ding for over thirteen years.

Qualifications

Certification in Tai Chi covers Traditional Yang Style Short Form and Long Form, Zhang Zhuang Chi Kung, JDIATCC Core exercises, Posture Testing, Martial Applications and Breathing Meditation. Member of the Irish Martial Arts Council.

Other Interests

He is also a qualified Reiki Master / Teacher, having received his Reiki III certification from Brian McCullen, Reiki Master, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland, in February of 2004. He follows the Tera Mai Reiki tradition of healing and is a member of the Reiki Federation of Ireland.
