Ko Poon

Ko Poon (Poon Kok Hung) started his Martial Arts career in the early eighties within a successful Karate organisation. He trained in the external art of Shotokan Karate Do as well as Goju Ryu under various masters. In 1994 Poon Dojo opened its doors for the very first time. It was in 1995 that Ko Poon founded Poon Dojo. In 1999 Ko Poon decided to focus his training within the internal arts. It was at this point that he became a student under Master John Ding. In December 2002 he achieved his teaching qualification as a qualified Instructor of JDIATCC. Since then, he has been involved in teaching Tai Chi to the Elderly for 'Age Concern Waltham Forest', teaching Tai Chi in a Newham Primary School as well as for a Learning Disability Unit at Waltham Forest. He now runs the Stratford Branch JDIATCC and is an advance student of Sifu John Ding dedicating his Martial Arts training solely and exclusively to the path of Tai Chi Chuan. Ko Poon is also part of the 'corporate team' for the John Ding Academy (JDA). He is also a contributor to the International magazine - 'Tai Chi and Alternative Health'. Ko Poon graduated in November 2003 from the British School of Shiatsu Do as a fully qualified Shiatsu therapist and now runs a successful 'practice' in East London.
